First, as a disclaimer, up front, I was in no way prompted to draft this product review of the Purple Ultimate Seat Cushion, nor were any goods sent to me in exchange for my opinion or evaluation. I own this product outright and paid out of my very own pocket for it.

Now that the pesky disclaimer (for legal reasons) is out of the way, here’s my story.

Last fall, I took the leap of faith and made the decision to pay for the best choice out there on the Purple website for one of the best in tooshy/bum/backside/posterior/sitting comfort and now I’m deciding to submit a Purple Ultimate Seat Cushion review and I couldn’t be happier about this choice to purchase this utterly amazing product.

The Purple Ultimate Seat Cushion is like the Lamborghini, Aston Martin or Maserati of the seat cushion world.

Before this time, I was sitting on the Portable Purple Seat Cushion, another high quality product from Purple, I’d like to say, and before that, nothing at all.

My tailbone was in pain and my back had a couple of disagreements with how I was treating my body as well and so they let me know by the way I felt each and every day and we all know sitting too long everyday can cause health problems…

Prior to purchasing both the Ultimate Seat Cushion and Portable Purple, I watched an incredible video of an “egg test” where the egg doesn’t break (psst, it’s on this page in case you’re curious) with a Purple Mattress and decided to take a chance on it.

I suppose, by this point you possibly can assume that I’m a Purple “fan boy.”

Sure, the cost was steep on every one of these Purple products. However my body and my well being couldn’t be more of a testimonial to the satisfaction and quality I enjoy in owning a Purple king size mattress and two Purple seat cushions.

Basic Care

• Cover: Machine wash cold with like colors, tumble dry low.
• Cushion: Wash with warm water and mild detergent. Let air dry.
  Recommended for Raw Egg Test (Done without cover only):Yes! Just make sure to put it under your thigh instead of the thin dip in the back.

I just want to let you know that I work remote from home and I have a few confessions about working from home. One of these confessions is that the work is there at all times and as such, I have a tendency to sit down at work for lengthy intervals to see my current projects through to completion.

The Purple Ultimate Seat Cushion, just like the Portable Purple I used before I owned it, helps to ease my aches and pains.  It makes sure the comfort lasts during my marathon sitting/work periods.

I’m sitting on it right now and I can tell you, it feels like I’m sitting on probably the most comfortable air bubble!

I don’t really feel hours upon hours go by while sitting and tending to my work flow. My body, once I get up from my office chair feels relaxed and rejuvenated. It is, truthfully, for lack of a better word, pure bliss to sit down on this seat cushion.

Life with Purple merchandise is now full of nothing but comfort, restful sleep and a thankful bottom.

Thank you, Purple for developing such an amazing product line. This Purple fan boy is one you will have for a lifetime.

It also doesn’t hurt that the marketing videos published by Purple are pure gold as well. Especially the Sasquatch one (you can find it under all of this Purple Ultimate Seat Cushion product review).

Now that I’ve spoken about the pros of this wonderful product, let’s get down to brass tacks in regards to the few cons.

The Cons

• First, as it is a seat cushion, it isn’t part of my office chair. That being stated, it takes adjusting it from time-to-time to get it put into place every so often.
• Second, as I’m a tall individual (6′ 4″), my seat is already lowered as low as possible to get my legs beneath my desk. Adding this seat cushion raises me up a half inch to an inch where my legs barely fit beneath my pull out keyboard on my desk. That being said, this downside is definitely solved by taking my iPhone, keys, and wallet out of my pockets and placing them on my desk when I am working (keeps me from getting poked by my keys too). This brings my height in my chair between my legs and the slide out keyboard down about a half inch to an inch.
• Third, there’s a cover on this cushion which is able to be washed from time-to-time, so please remember that there’s some care that comes with it while proudly owning the Purple Ultimate Seat Cushion and the Portable Purple or anything in between, depending on which one you end up getting for yourself.
• Finally, the cost of the product itself is a bit on the high side.  However I took the leap and ponied up the money for it and I’m glad that I did. It was an incredible investment.

Phew, now that I got everything, potentially unfavorable I have to say in regards to the Purple Ultimate Seat Cushion out of the way, I can go back to singing its praises.

If it was possible for me to shout my love for all things Purple from the mountain tops, I undoubtedly would.

I sure am glad I purchased this Purple seat cushion! I use it in my chair when watching TV, and in the car when we’re traveling. I have some hip/back issues and using this seat has helped a good deal. It is comfortable to sit on. The design allows for air circulation because it is not “sweaty” to sit on. Need to know: The cost is high, but now that I am looking back, it’s one thing that I’d do 1,000 times again and again to make sure that my health remains in a very good place and where I don’t sacrifice any level of comfort, while working remote from home.

Extra Extra: When it comes to Purple, at all times, go for a thicker pad. The more thickness you have, the better the comfort. Also, attempt the egg test, you see in the video above, when you get this seat cushion. You’ll be amazed when you find the yolk’s not on you (pun intended) when you get up from your chair.
